Voice Coil Design
A complete voice coil design solver with an embedded wire database, automatic drawing generation, and a 3D inspection view.
An embedded wire database
The voice coil module draws on a large embedded database covering all types of conventional loudspeaker wire — round copper, aluminum, CCA, and flat ribbon — with material properties and dimensional data for every standard gauge in common use. A unique Inlay % feature accurately describes the packing geometry, and a wire-stretch parameter yields highly accurate predictions.
A true design solver
The module operates as a true design solver: given any two of Re, winding height, and wire size, it will solve for the third. This lets the designer work forward from a target DCR, wire size, or winding height. Coil types include more than 20 configurations, including multilayer, multi-input, bifilar through quadfilar, edge winding, inner/outer winding, and tapered winding — or combinations of any of these.
Side tab and drawing output
The Voice Coil side tab shows an overview of the coil design, with additional information that can be included in a specification sheet for a supplier. A cross-section drawing is generated automatically, annotated with inside diameter, outside diameter, winding height, and former height. Drawing outputs include customer information, part number, DCR tolerance range, vent hole positions, and former bottom treatment — sufficient detail to support a full release-drawing workflow.
Interactive 3D visualization
An interactive 3D view renders the complete coil assembly with the former, winding, and collar as separate solid surfaces, and supports rotation and zoom for inspection from any viewpoint.
